One of the things that helps in making your wedding day as problem free as possible is a timeline for the day. The timeline is something that everyone (Maid of Honor, Best Man, Photographer, DJ and Venue Coordinator) can use to know the What, When and Where for your day. It doesn’t have to be complicated or so detailed that it needs a publisher, it just has to have the basics. Some of the things that are helpful on the timeline are included in the following sample from one of my recent Brides.
Wedding Timeline:
10:00a-3p Bride, bridesmaids and mothers start hair/makeup appointments at XXX Salon (123 Main St, Our Town, 55555)
3:30p Everyone arrives at the church–Groom and the groomsmen will get dressed prior to arrival and florist will be there at 3:30 (or earlier) to start pinning flowers and decorating the sanctuary
4:00-4:45 Photos (Wedding Parties separately)
5:30-6p Ceremony
6-6:30p Formal photographs (notify everyone who needs to stay after ceremony)
6:30-7p Travel to the reception and take a few wedding party photographs
7:00p Bridal party introductions at the reception
7:05p First dance
7:10p Blessing—followed by the bridal party going through the dinner line
7:20-7:45p Bride & Groom photographs around venue while everyone else eats
8:15p Cake cutting
8:20p Toasts—Maid of Honor/Best Man
8:30p Dance floor opens
10ish Bouquet and garter toss
10:55p Last dance
11:00p Grand send off
Giving an advance copy of this to your Photographer will help us get the photographs that will be important to you.
